Shane's professional singing career started with fronting top Australian band "The Pleazers", with a reputation as 'wild and uninhibited'.
They drew huge crowds to their live appearances and toured Australia and New Zealand several times during this period.
Shane then formed the 'Shane' band in 1968. Several months later Shane then starred on New Zealand’s favourite top-rated TV shows C'mon 68 & C'mon 69.
This culminated in continuous tours of New Zealand, for months on end and made Shane a household name.
In 1969 Shane received the "Gold Disc Award" and "Top Soloist" in New Zealand. This lead to appearances on the top Australian TV show "Bandstand" & "Freeride"
Shane has had international recording successes with songs, St Paul and Lady Samantha takes Shane on a tour of Germany and Holland with top acts "Shocking blue" and Andy Kim.
Another tour offered coincides at this time in the Midwest states of the U.S.A. where Shane is voted "Best Newcomer" in Billboards magazine.
Traveling throughout the U.K. and alternating between New Zealand and the U.K. Shane performed numerous cabaret shows appearing at top clubs.
Based Back in New Zealand Shane performed in the lead role of Jesus Christ Superstar with rave reviews around the country.
Shane has worked with some of the Industries “best”, he has shone as a Singer, Performer, Radio Host, TV Host, Venue Owner, and above all an Entertainer.
In 1971, Shane released the album "Straight, Straight, Straight"
then, another album in 2011 called "Full Circle"
Also... Hosting his own TV show " Rocking the Planet with Shane" for a record 4-year run which was designed to promote local talent, while also appearing weekly on Face TV's Gerard Smith's "The Beat goes On" for its entire nine-year stint.
In 2017 Shane was honoured with a MNZM "Members of the New Zealand Order of Merit" distinction for his contribution to the music industry.
All this and he still finds time to work on the organising committee for the annual Harbour Hospice fundraising event "Rock the Hithe" which has donated close to $150,000 so far Shane currently maintains one of the busiest schedules in NZ entertainment working at packed venues non-stop across the country with his legendary show.
Shane & his Shazam Band have no plans to slow down any time soon.

Presented with Variety Artists Silver scroll award 1997 Presented with Variety Artists Benny Award 2011 Made a Member of the NZ Order of Merit. 2017.
It is this kind of dedication to the NZ music scene and Shane’s immense talent that has made Shane a Household name and a true holder of the title SUPERSTAR!
