What is the New Zealand Walk of Fame?
New Zealand has produced some extraordinary entertainers. From singers and musicians to television personalities, actors, broadcasters, magicians and performers, the New Zealand Walk of Fame celebrates the people who have entertained generations of Kiwis and helped put New Zealand (Aotearoa) talent on the world stage.
Located on Orewa Boulevard on Auckland’s Hibiscus Coast, the Walk is a free public attraction where visitors can literally walk amongst the stars — at any hour, on any day.

The stars sit in the footpath at 340 Hibiscus Coast Highway, Orewa — two minutes from three kilometres of beach, and surrounded by cafés. Allow 30 to 60 minutes for the Walk itself, or make a half day of it.

A living monument
New stars are unveiled at public ceremonies several times a year, each with the honouree present where possible.
Free and always open
No tickets, no gates. The stars sit in the footpath on the Hibiscus Coast Highway, day and night.
Made for visitors
A self-guided route, beachside cafés and Orewa's 3km beach make it an easy half-day stop on the way north.
Our story
The first star was unveiled on Orewa Boulevard on 1 July 2010 for Ray Woolf MNZM. Every star since has been a piece of New Zealand’s story kept in public, at ground level, where anyone can find it.
